Our featured artist for the month of August is Larry Holak.

"I am a local photographer and graphic designer who lives with his wife in the Portage area countryside. I have been capturing "Natures Textures" images in the area, as well as other parts of the country for many years and I am pleased to be sharing these images of the natural world with you.

I grew up and went to high school in Hillsboro Wisconsin where I was a kid who painted the signs for the root beer stand, milk trucks, etc. and took pictures with my Kodak Brownie Box camera. With this interest in art, hand lettering signs and photography, I decided I would go to MATC in Madison to be a sign painter. There I discovered they had a new commercial art program and went that direction."
